DIVEMASTER

NAUI Divemaster is the highest NAUI leadership-level certification except for Instructor. Originally created by Canadian NAUI Instructors in 1972, the Divemaster program is designed to train and certify experienced and knowledgeable divers to organize and conduct open water dives for certified divers. In addition, Divemasters may assist active instructors in conducting diving courses, although they are not authorized to teach. Divemasters are often employed in many areas as underwater guides for diving tourists. Although the rating has been copied by other agencies, the NAUI Divemaster course remains the most respected and demanding.
