Global Underwater Explorers DIR Fundamentals Class B

This DIR-F class was scheduled for 8,9,10 September 2004.  Typhoon Songda blew in on 5,6,7 September and had everyone nervous about getting the class to go.  Fortunately the first day was classroom, so the ocean had an extra day to calm.  With guys from Class A chomping at the bit to finish, Sonya had quite a job on her hands.

Chris and Billy making it look like they are being studious

Charles and Dee take their turn at looking involved

Charles is first up for equipment inspection

Dee and Billy standing by for inspection

Uh oh, it looks serious. Dee and Billy get their gear critiqued

Chris AKA WaterDawg has his turn in the spotlight

A look from above as adjustments are being made to equipment

Practicing proper finning techniques on the pool deck. Isn't it dirty?

Eew, dirty feet. I sure hope Sonya doesn't have to assist with ankle and foot movement

Yuck, Billy your feet are rather disgusting

Charles and Chris get their first drill in use of the long hose

Dee and Billy look like they are really into this long hose stuff

Ahhhhhh a dip in the pool. Did someone say there was a swim test or two

Chris, Billy and Dee all trying to make it look as if they really are divers

Maeda Point on 10 September. A beautiful day and great conditions. Too bad I had to work and wasn't there to take more photos.
